Colleges I should look at?

I'm currently a junior and I've been looking at colleges but I'm not sure what is realistic or not.

I've always been on honor roll/high honor roll. 90+ overall avg. I'm not taking any AP classes this year. I really effed myself over with that. I'm planning on taking a few next year. I'm working hard to improve my grades this year. I have not taken the SAT/ACT yet. I got a 27 on the practice ACT.

I'm in junior class council, DECA, Foreign Exchange Club, and Interact. Interact does a lot of volunteer work. I'm a very active member in all.

I want to be a psychiatrist and major in pysch.

I'd like to stay somewhat close to NY.

If anyone could recommend some colleges to look at that I could have a chance at getting into, I'd really appreciate it.

Do you want to stay IN new york? If you do you coud essentially look at all of the SUNY/CUNY schools. Pysch is a pretty generic major so most schools will have a pretty good rep for it. I’ve personally looked at CUNY City College and the College of Saint Rose. You could look through their websites and If your iterested you could ask me and I’ll try to help as far as what I learned from visiting.

SUNY-Geneseo has a very strong Psychology program.

What can you afford? Are you going to need a lot of financial aid? If you are pre-med (which is what you would have to be for Psychiatry), you need to plan for the fact that medical school is very expensive (figure $50k p.a.), even if you go to your instate school.
