ne more suggestions?

do you mean ny state or nyc?

in new york state : ) and not law schools .. law programs

What do you mean by law programs? Like for an undergrad degree?

ya like pre law programs for undergrad degree ... like how they have for medical ... i noe in stony brook they have wise for women in science program and etc.

There is really no such thing as a "pre law" major for undergrads. In fact, you can major in any subject and go on to law school. But, some schools are better than others at advising students who want to go on to law school and helping them develop the academic capabilities they'll need to succeed in law school. So, what you want to be looking for is not a "pre law" major or program, but a school that has a strong overall academic program, a good pre law advising program, and perhaps some opportunities for related internships to see if you are really interested in law.

Without knowing what you are looking for in a college beyond "pre law" or what your admissions profile is like currently, it's hard to make specific recommendations, but here are some schools in NY I would suggest for starters because they offer an excellent comprehensive education that will help you prepare not just for law school but for any career you may decide on in the future. They are listed in no particular order:

Columbia
Fordham
Colgate
Syracuse U
University of Rochester
NYU
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Geneseo
Marist College
SUNY New Paltz
SUNY Albany (good government internship opps)
Skidmore
Sienna
Vassar
Bard
Hobart & William Smith
Hamilton

But, in truth, you can prepare for law school at any good college with a strong undergraduate academic program. So, think about what you want beyond "pre law" in a college, and go from there.

wow thanks so much for that advice
i just looked up the colleges which i didn't know of and i am def. gonna apply to some of them

thnx again for the helpful post!

Rennselaer has a 6 year guaranteed law program.
Deadline was 11/1

Actually, some schools (but not many) do offer Prelaw as an undergraduate degree. I would caution you, however, most lawyers and advisors say that you should major in something that interests you and avoid Poli Sci or Prelaw majors because law schools want diversity and your future employer will like to see that you have a particularly good skill in a unique area.

"avoid Poli Sci or Prelaw majors because law schools want diversity "

If you're going to get a 4.0 in the most stereotypical prelaw major compared to a 3.0 in a major such as Music, choose the prelaw major no matter what -

diversity is 'nice', but they dont give a crap about what your major was (even engineering, they simply dont care, they just tell you that you're the one who chose it and should have known that it would have hurt your law school chances because of the lower GPA) its all a numbers game of plugging in your GPA and LSAT, and then doing a quick background check, and then admit/deny.

Major in a easy prelaw field so you can get a high GPA, dont major in science/engineering unless your a genius because if you do bad, you can only go to a crappy law school and then live a miserable life of poverty. Then in 30 years you'll be thinking "why didnt I study a soft useless major and get a high GPA so I could be off now making millions...oh noes!"
