I've been told by someone (who goes to a private school and supposedly got checked) that colleges look at your internet history when you apply to them. Is this true? They really check all the history that one has done? To add further onto the point, that someone also said that they check everything from freshman year? O_O

I'm interested as to what the answer to this is going to be.

I’m not sure they have that kind of access. I’m sure they look at your social networks and things that are publicly available, but to get all of your browsing records they’d have to get access from your ISP.

I’m guessing that the person actually said that they check out your online history - the history of your presence online, such as on social networks, etc. - what everyone can just see anyway. I’m not just not sure that they have that kind of access; I’m sure that they don’t. Not only would it be a waste of time for them, it would be illegal.
