<p>Do most colleges allow that, or do most not? I'm primarily asking about Clemson and U South Carolina.</p>
<p>Most do, but not all do. You really need to ask each college or university you’re interested in. And when you ask, you might also ask whether deferring your enrollment would have any effect on merit aid, admission to honors programs, etc., if you think you might be in the running for any of that stuff.</p>
<p>Since you’re talking only about 2 universities, I could go scour the undergraduate admissions web sites of those universities, and I bet I could find the answers. And if I didn’t, I could send an email to the admissions offices and ask them. But I don’t actually need to know the answer, so I will leave it to you to do your own work.</p>
