I am interested in trying to double major in Computer Science and in Photography. They sound unrelated, I know. I would like to go to a top tier school (I have the stats), but I can't seem to find many that offer photography as a major. I'm not interested in going to an "art institute." Someday, I'll probably get over my photography fancies and wish that I had gone to a "real school." NYU offers both. It's pretty much the closest I've found to what I want. Do you know of anywhere else that I should be looking?

Also I was looking at RIT and it has an engineering school and a great photography school. You can't go to both at the same time, can you?

Thanks.

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question. I just am unsure about which major I would prefer and would like to choose a college that offers both.

Interesting, check out University of Cincinnati's Digital Design program as part of their school of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning. It is a combination of animation, digital photography and web design plus requured programming courses. They also have a terrific paid coop program that RIT doesn't have.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions :] They are appreciated.

Can you go to multiple schools within a college? After looking at Syracuse's website, I noticed that the Engineering and Computer Science school is separate from the arts and sciences college. Is it possible to attend courses at both colleges? Same with RIT.

Brown has computer science and allows you to take classes at RISD. Also, Carnegie Mellon is a top tier CS and art school -- although there is not a photography major. You can also look at Washington University in St Louis -- they have engineering (CS) and you can major in photography in their art school.

You should also check out Webster University. They have two photography majors - one in the art department, and one in communications. It allows you to choose the program that best fits your interests and career goals. Computer science is also a very solid major for them.

University of Pennsylvania, urban ivy, can major in comp sci through school of engineering, and can have a concetration or minor in photography through fine arts dept.
