Colleges that would be good for me?

I'm going to be a senior this September. I want a school that is far away from home (Ohio and New Jersey), have a nice climate (I love Southern California a lot), medium to large, have sororities, and have a nice area surround it with activities.

I have..
about 3.8 GPA weighted with all honors/AP academics
1950 SAT
28 ACT (retaking in september)
3 years volleyball (this year will be 4 years with varsity letter)
2 years varsity spring track/field
1 year softball
spanish club and community service club
15 hours volunteer
2 job experiences

If it helps, my parents never went to college and my brother goes to the University of Southern California. I'm Asian American (born in NYC) and I would like to go to a school that isn't a super party school but rather an academicly rigorous school with parties on the weekends. I'm also atheist, so schools that are super religious won't fit me. Also, I'm planning to major in either biotechnology (or something like that with a minor in US history) or forensics. Thanks so much!

Look at Cal Poly SLO

UCLA sounds good for you.

How much can your family afford?

Also, UCLA costs around $55k a year.

Idk how much they can afford but I’m hoping I will get scholarships

Talk to your parents about what they are willing to contribute and run net price calculators to get an idea of financial aid at the various schools.

Yes, I know every NJ student wants to go anywhere but Rutgers, but don’t overlook it when looking for affordable choices.
