What colleges have free or really cheap applications? (around $20 or less) lol

http://www.porcelina.net/freeapps/

You could also get a fee waiver for applications if your income is low enough.

Hamilton's is free online!

American University in Washington DC is free if you submit online.

On the commonapp.org website you can print off a list of all the participating members that has a column for their prices.

College app fees really add up, don't they?

couple hundred when you include collegeboard's fees for sat scores to be sent along, and schools that use css/profile. not to mention the cost of mailing additional finaid documents

Wellesley and Smith are free if you do everything online. I was surprised.

case western reserve university is common app and if u apply online the 60 dollar fee is waived.

There's no point in worrying about app fees. Take those few hundred dollars and compare it to the money you will be spending on tuition.

^ yeah, but when you apply to 10+ places, the fee would easily surpass $500, which ain't cheap.

Carleton is free on commonapp.

Quick question- how do you know if your income is low enough for a fee waver?

Deep Springs.

Other schools blast you with emails if you are a qualified candidate that it is the LAST DAY and that you DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY (or write an essay, or a recommendation....)

Others offer you a waiver if you are a minority (so far Reed and Swarthmore have offered me such waivers)

Good luck!

Hillsdale has its own application which is free online. They are also on the common app

"Others offer you a waiver if you are a minority (so far Reed and Swarthmore have offered me such waivers)"

I hope they offer the waiver if you are poor, which, I suppose, is a kind of minority.

^^

With the way the economy is going (here comes a recession, boys!), a lot of us will be poor. Not so much a minority!

I really don't understand why everyone is freaking out over the upcoming recession, I mean, the capitalist economy runs on cycles of recessions and booms.

I am working on campus but my family income is verry low, and I only make maximum 300/month. I am an international student so I can't work full time. I am also from a thrid world country. Would I be qualify for a fee waiver? SInce I am working I guess that the college will expect me to pay the application.Any clue?

Reed (for example) says this about fee waivers:

"Requests must be supported by the College Scholarship Service (CSS) waiver request form or by a letter from your guidance counselor indicating financial hardship."
