Colleges with High Acceptance Rates

What are some of the easiest universities to get into as a transfer student? I'm in CA, so I already know about the CSUs and am not really interested. I'm also familiar with the UC-system, but I think the IGETC is a load of crap. Or I'm just lazy. Probably the latter.

Anyway, what I am interested in~
-out of state schools
-any school in an urban area
-schools with B.A. in Cinematography/Film (although not an actual necessity)
-private schools are fine, except for ones with insanely high tuition

Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

I think that we in California are a bit spoiled when it comes to our public schools. We have the highest quality, best preference, decent prices, and let's face it, best weather. Since you say any suggestions are welcome, I would say you reconsider UC. As long as your GPA is at least close to a B average, you should be able to find a few of them to accept you. If you think IGETC is crap, then don't do it. UCSC might accept you if you don't finish that and even if you don't finish their own campus GE requirements.

I honestly don't know much about out-of-state schools. But I've never encountered a private school that I thought was at least decent without insanely high tuition.

Has UCSC accepted in the past without IGETC? I'm pretty much already gauranteed at UCR with this program I'm in, however, I do NOT intend on going there. And I guess that is a little stubborn, but it is a backup plan and I don't want to end up falling on it.

I'm not sure what my GPA is yet since this is my first semester at CC, but it should be atleast 3.0. Also, it's not only the IGETC- 60 units just seems like a lot of work, I feel like I'll be stuck here forever.

Basically, what I'd like to be able to do is transfer somewhere after a year of CC, and possibly go in as a lower-division so I don't get gypped of the whole 'college experience' which I've heard happens to most upper-divisions

What is your situation? Have you already transferred? At my college they don't really tell us anything...

Their website does say they will accept someone without IGETC.

Considering this is your first semester, I think you should get a little more class time under your belt before you dismiss UC or CSU.

I haven't transferred, per se, but applied to some UCs and USC. I've been studying abroad for the last year and I'll be returning to a CC next semester just to get the CC student preference.

I wouldn't try to transfer as alower divison. You save money, get your ge's out the way and trust me your'e not missing out on the college experience. Be patient. Everything goes by fast 60 units is nothing remember there are summer and winter sessions to get 1 or 2 classes out the way. As far as out of state schools with high acceptance rates and in urban setting check out: Seton Hall, Michigan, and Florida. Here in Cali check out Loyola Marymount, Occidental College, University of San Diego, and the Univerisity of San Francisco.
