Can anyone guide me to the thread with the list of colleges that still had space after the admission process was pretty much over? Would appreciate it.

heres the NACAC list; can’t find the thread you are referring to though

nm; that’s just the survey results…I’ll look further

here it is…

Thank you ever so much, Rodney. Was searching and searching for it. Friend’s D just got deferred from her safety school and is in hysterics. I’m think some of her schools had some space available even at the end of the process and I wanted to take a peek at the list again.

Rather than wait until May, there are many schools whose application deadlines have not passed…such as Feb. 1, Feb. 15, or March 1, and she could apply to one more safety now.

I 'm also interested in seeing which schools were undersubscribed last year. But I can’t gain access to the list. The site apparently took it down by the end of the summer. I can find partials on the internet but not the full one.

The young lady is unlikely to be turned down by a number of her schools and I think is even likely to be accepted to this school in April.

Well, if she only has one safety and is deferred, there is no harm in sending an app to another safety whose deadline has not passed. Nothing to lose.

She is fine, Soozie. I believe she has an acceptance already in the bag. I’m just trying to get that list because I think one of her schools is on it and I also want to look at it again. Do know where I could see the full list from 2010? I wasted time getting an account with the NACAC and can’t even get on the site because they want to know what organization I want. I don’t even understand the danged question. I have a feeling they washed the list anyways, but there must be a site that copied it so that it can still be viewed.

I’m sorry that I can’t help you in figuring out how to view it. :(

If the girl has an acceptance in the bag and a deferral at her safety and it is only January, she is OK.

Yes. It’s just too bad that the deferral was her first choice school and it really was a school that was likely to have accepted her. I am surprised as is her mother that she was deferred. The girl is really upset. Doesn;t make sense because she is accepted with a nice merit award at another school that is more selective than the one with the deferral.

cpt, just so you know in case it’s needed, that “list” is not really a list, it’s a database. It changes constantly from May-July as schools fill their seats. IIRC, the schools who participate (and not all do, although they may have openings) have direct access to it.

Not sure how it works, Sk8rmom. Just want to check it out for right now, but I can’t find it on line anywhere. I’d just like to see the list as it first came out in May.

Her safety school is her first choice school then? (not so common)

She should do some things to advocate for her deferral there.
