Colleges with Summer Programs (for credit)?

DD hopes to enter a BFA program as a junior this fall (she’s graduating HS this May armed with her AA, and is being considered for a BFA transfer spot).

It occurred to me that rather than do a normal (no college credit) summer intensive, perhaps there is a University that is offering dance classes that could earn credit towards her BFA, at Florida (UF isn’t offering much this summer, in dance).

Anyone know of universities that conduct a good assortment of summer classes (that could transfer for credit)?

American Dance Festival is a fantastic contemporary summer program that offers college credit. Though I am not optimistic that it will actually happen this summer.

UNC-Greensboro also offers a week-long program for credit.

University of Utah offers credit - 1 credit each for technique and pointe if I recall correctly.

I also heard that the American Dance Festival is an amazing program, so many people to connect with that are significant in the dance world.

@dancemum6 it really is! One of the most important parts of my dd’s development as a dancer. My dd attended the pre-pro program for two years in high school and was so looking forward to doing the advanced intensive this summer. She’s registered but I’m not too optimistic at this point.

@ucsb82 UCI offers credit courses during the summer I believe!

@threegirlpileup my D was registered also and is devastated they have cancelled. She has the option of Joffrey just to do something this summer but I’m hesitant to even go through with paying the deposit because I’m sure they’ll end up canceling. I doubt anyone will be having intensives this summer :frowning:

Yes, we’re very sad here too ?

Just FYI – We were just informed that Jacob’s Pillow cancelled their Dance Festival this summer.
