Colleges You Recommend Based On My Stats?

Hi folks, I am a senior in high school. I've been trying to find some colleges IN THE NORTHEASTERN UNITED STATES AREA that would MATCH OR BE SAFE my academic level. I live in New Jersey and I am looking at colleges that are IN the northeastern United States area. PLEASE DISREGARD TUITION COSTS. I have had only a little luck so I'd really appreciate your opinions. I want to study one of the following (I want to get a Master's Degree):
- Information Technology
- Information Systems
- Information Sciences

Weighted GPA: 3.77 based on a 5.0 scale
Un-Weighted GPA: 3.46 based on a 4.0 scale
Class Rank: Top 25% - 30%

SAT: 1810 (Reading: 490; Math: 670; Writing: 650)
Combined SAT: 1850 (Reading: 520; Math: 680; Writing: 650)
ACT: (awaiting score from September's test)

Classes I Took Throughout High School:
- I basically took Honors courses wherever I could (English, Maths, History, Sciences)
- AP Macroeconomics (junior year; B average)
- AP Statistics (junior year; C average)
- AP Calculus AB (currently taking)
- AP Microeconomics (currently taking)
- AP US Gov't & Politics (currently taking)

Extra Curriculars:
- FBLA: placed 2nd in Central New Jersey for Computer Problem Solving (went to states)
- FBLA: placed 3rd in Central New Jersey for Cyber Security (went to states)
- Internship: did a voluntary finance/accounting internship for 46.50 hours
- Volunteering: volunteered at the library for 34 hours
- Volunteering: volunteered in Red Cross for 43 hours
- Volunteered in a charity club for 5 hours (lol)
- TOTAL = 128 hours

Work Experience:
- owned and independently ran a "successful" tennis gear and racquet stringing business throughout high school (this was not an "official" business)
- worked as a desk staff in a tennis club for about 15-20 hours

So, what colleges would you recommend for information technology, information sciences, or information systems as MATCH OR SAFETY based on my stats? All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

any problem with Rutgers?

No, actually I don’t have a problem applying there. In fact, it is on my list. Do you know how “well-known” or good the technology majors are at Rutger’s (New Brunswick)?

Pitt?

10 char

Thanks, I’ll look at Pitt. A little farther than home than I hoped. An what does “10 char” mean?

Stevens, Stonybrook, Drexel, UMD-CP too many to list…

So far I have:
-Drexel
-Northeastern (reach?)
-Rutgers New Brunswick
-Penn State University (reach?)
-Temple (safety?)

Stevens looks a little big of a reach for me.

On MyChances it says that i have a 64% of getting into College Park. Would this be considered a match or reach?

64% is a match

no, you need some reaches, put college park in, put Stevens in as well if you like it.

64% is a match? Thank god.

boston university
NYU
villanova university
university of michigan - reach
syracuse university
american university
boston college

I understand what you mean, but if it’s on MyChances, what would you consider the percentage range for reaches? I mean practical reaches, lol.

Thanks for your input, but something doesn’t seem right.

On MyChances it shows:
Boston College = 2%
NYU = 23%
UMich Ann Arbor = 42%
Villanova University = 4%

They don’t look like matches to me :(

Lol. Stop using silly sites like that. If that site says you have a 42% chance at Umich with a 520 reading and a 3.45 GPA and you’re out of state, it’s simply not accurate. YOu have a much better chance at Nova than at UMICH.

Oh man, now I’m worrying all those colleges predictions may not be accurate :(

What should I use to compare the stats? Some college’s websites are so annoying to navigate through to put these stats.

yeah… i agree. your stats are pretty much matches for villanova. and very close reaches for boston college and nyu. your stats are matches for american university too and syracuse.
your stats are still too low for university of michigan, like the previous person said it should be lower. try college p r o w l e r

I see, I see. The reason why I ignored some colleges like NYU and Boston College is because people with much better grades and academics were talking about these colleges. Since they were considering these AND I have heard these are very good colleges, I thought I wouldn’t have a chance at these colleges. I don’t know what to say. I mean, is College P r o w l e r accurate in its GPA and SAT/ACT scores?

using college board and princeton review is very accurate too! the statistic thing on college p. with the people accepted, rejected, and accepted and didn’t attend is pretty accurate…

your stats are basically the same as mine so… i think boston college would be a reach for you and nyu could be a close reach. you should also look into northeastern! providence college, george washington university (reach) penn state university park, purdue university

and temple university… isn’t ranked that high. if i were you, i wouldn’t pay out of state tuition for a public university when i could go to a private instead and actually get to know my professors… you know what i mean?

You just relieved the hell out of me. I can’t believe I forgot about College Board and Princeton Review… I got too caught up in MyChances lol. Now I just basically upgraded my college list.

Thanks so much!
