Are there any engineering colleges that I should consider that require an SAT score of this: CR: 600 range/Math: 700-800/Writing: 550-650. I also have an unweighted GPA of a 3.63, but I take the full IB diploma, so I probably have a 4.4 GPA weighted. I’m planning on improving my SAT score over this summer vacation and since I’ve been looking at some colleges, are these considered reasonable?
-NYU
-RPI
-RIT
-UConn
-UMass Amherst
-WPI
-Northeastern
-Stony Brook
-University at Buffalo
Any suggestions as to which engineering schools I should think about? I live in MA and I want at stay the east coast and close to home as possible. I’m considering New York, NJ, MA, and CT. However, I want to try Florida Institute and uF because of their facilities and the fact that they’re both reasonable fit for me. Should I convince my parents to apply there?
Look at Stevens. Hoboken is a fantastic town. The school is on the Hudson river across from Manhattan. Stevens grads get great jobs.
Did you look into Rutgers?
I second Stevens, and would include Drexel and Temple if you’re willing to go as far away as Philly.
Does anybody know if there any engineering that people know of that are academically rigorous? I’m leaning more towards that. MIT sounds like one, but there’s probably no chance of me getting in.
if you had a better title you would get more replies. At least Engineering college? if not Engineering college for M600?
Engineering is pretty academically rigorous anywhere. Most colleges are ABET accredited which approves and sort of regulates the course requirements.
Some on your list are pretty rigorous
@rohank10 Stevens is the better school than the ones on your list. Stevens grads are way at the top in terms of income and there is no better location in the NY area.
Have you asked your parents how much they can pay? You have a bunch of pricey out of state colleges on the list.
