Colleges

I am currently a junior and I live in California. My weighted GPA is at a 4.0 (no GPA spring 2020) and my unweighted is at a 3.85. I have gotten a 1460 on a practice SAT. Also, I am a swimmer and an AIME qualifier. Would trying to get into UC Berkeley be reasonable or not. (I’m also Asian)

Are you being recruited for swimming?

Intended major?

HS course rigor?

I still haven’t had junior year, but the GPA is fully weighted, including 9th grade. I don’t plan on being recruited for swimming. I still have an undecided major and my high school course rigor is quite extreme…maybe too extreme. (1 honors freshmen year, 2 honors/2 APs freshmen year, 5 APs junior year)

UCB nor other UC’s consider 9th grades or 9th grade Honors in their GPA calculation (only 10-11th). You are on track academically and the UC’s will be test blind when you apply so test scores are not a consideration. At the moment race-ethnicity are not an admission consideration but that could change. Keep doing what you are doing, enjoy your time in HS, research a variety of schools, come up with a well balanced college list and you will be fine.

Some statistical data to gauge your chances and target stats you want to meet along with the UC GPA calculator. All 3 UC GPA’s will be considered by UCB and the other UC’s.
