Colorado School of Mimes

Can anyone tell me more about this school? Is it really a good miming school? I have not read much about it on this board. All the mimes we have talked to speak very highly of it, but it seems few other people have heard of it. Any thoughts? Our son has already been accepted, visited the campus and loved it, and has also received a nice financial aid package. Just need someone's thoughts on this school.

It rocks!!!!! But i've never been there so count me out.

talking mimes? Aren't they supposed to dress up in white-face and act things out silently like Marcel Marceau? Maybe pretend to be miners? ;)

Well I live in Longmont, it's about 45 minutes outside of Golden.

A few of my friends are going there and it has a very distinctive reputation within the local community. There are many opportunities for Mines graduates. There is somewhere close to a 100% job placement rate, the ones who don't get placed go on to grad school (of course there are outliers, but the kind of students that Mines attracts are the cream of the crop).

It's a BEAUTIFUL area if you haven't visited Golden, Denver, or Boulder. Denver is a short 20-30 minute drive away, so is Boulder. Skiing is just up the canyon (if you're gonna live in Colorado, you gotta ski ; ) ). One of my FIRST Robotics mentors went to Mines and said that he really enjoyed it. It was a focused, academically stimuating environment. He also said, much to my suprize, that the girl/guy ratio wasn't a big deal.

Hope that helps some.
