@duermomucho you indicate only ethnicity on your application. She made it seem as if she marked it as African American.

@Silence and @Photographer
Thanks! I was worried that I hadn’t sent in something I was supposed to. Good luck to everyone! I’m getting pretty nervous now that Thursday is approaching O.o

guys chill out

do you ever feel, like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again? baby your the reason why, all the doors are closed, so you can find the perfect something something that leads to the paper works

cuz baby your a fireeeworrkkkks baby your a fireworksss

wth i mean *perfect road, not paper works lol wth

So do the admissions people know our decisions by now? And they’re just waiting for them to be sent out? If that’s true… that’s a scary thought that our futures are already decided…

@Those who answered me:
i’m talking about on the common app, under demographics, where the question says “Are you Hispanic or Latino?” I answered Yes. The next question says regardless of answer to prior question, please indicate how you identify yourself. American Indian counts as “all native peoples of the Americas” (grandparents). and Black or African American includes Africa and Caribbean. The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean island, no? Did I do something wrong? ):

5 days! GL to everyone !

^^
You answered correctly, so don’t worry about it.

Aren’t we supposed to get an email telling us when the decision will be released (if it is, in fact, the 9th like everyone has predicted)?

I honestly don’t know. Columbia seems very silent about what they do. I remember last year my interviewer actually had no idea when she’d find out, and suddenly on Dec 8th she got an email directing her to a site that had her acceptance. Columbia just likes to do their own thing. I like it.

^^^SO we don’t get the e-mail a week before, but rather on the same day…helps with decreasing the suspense I guess.

@AndreaAcosta ahh okay xD that makes a lot of sense I think I was just confused as to what you meant.

I firmly believe its going to be either the 9th or the 10th. But, sadly, Columbia is known for its bureaucratical inefficiencies.

I really thought it was gonna be the 8th… but we shall see!

what was your reasoning for the 8th?

ahh why can’t they just tell us?!!

Hi everyone. I spoke to someone at the admissions office who said they would send us the e-mail "a few days before: telling us the date, time and instructions for checking the decision. Nervous!
Good Luck everyone!!

I am for this one! Now I feel so much better, too!

@December wish: We might get it on Monday or Tuesday then.

Has anyone else been getting alot of emails from Columbia? They’ve emailed me a few times now, but I’ve only started my Common App and have yet to submit it. But they said the know I started it, how could they know info like that lol? And its not really emails from Columbia, but from Alumni’s at Columbia or something like that.

GOOD. I’m glad. I actually wanna know everything just a few days in advance.

@shahdin- schools just know if a student has started info like that. It doesn’t mean anything especially since you’re obviously applying RD.

I just read through a forum with the accept/defer/reject letters from columbia from a few years ago. The acceptance starts with “Congratulations” while the others are like the Committee on Admissions has carefullly reviewed your application and has decided to …"
Makes me deathly nervous
