Columbia 2015 hopefuls

haha nobody likes heywhyhi and soccerkid, from my observation

and yeah if ya are gonna be askign each other for accomplishments and cultures, do that over email or somethign this thread is to dicuss columbia

jacobian…haha my parents too…but i just ignore them lol

hope all of us gets in lol

@ Jacobian Your username is reminding me that I should study for my Calc III final. :[ Boo.

I applied to SEAS, too.

And undergrad doesn’t matter, at least in my case. I intend to go to grad…that’s the one that I really want to have Columbias name on the diploma.

How do you use your education to full potential if people get immediately turned off looking at your background? Would they not recognize you as a person? I know this is a cheesy question, but it is an issue I seriously think about. My parents have already told me that if I don’t get in places like Columbia, they are not paying for my tuition. I’ll have to take out loans. To them, paying for a lesser degree means wasting money. I’m sorry to sound so depressing.

“And undergrad doesn’t matter, at least in my case. I intend to go to grad…that’s the one that I really want to have Columbias name on the diploma.”

But everything builds off each other, right?

I’ll still get the same education for all I know if I go to, heck, a safety school like CUNY. And the reason that I would apply to a big school for grad will be for the name.

And it’s not a lesser degree. It’s still a college degree that you are getting wherever you go. Having a name/prestige is different than type of diploma.

by a lesser degree, I meant a degree that would not open the door for you to pursue your biggest dreams.

lol. You mean the jacobian matrix?

Once again, an Ivy league school won’t take you to a place that a “normal” college can’t take you. Espicially for undergrad.

My pharmacist told me that his daughter graduated Hunter college (a safety net school) and now attends Columbia for med.

lol columbia isnt really known for med tho?

Well whatever the famous med school is. There is no need to research med schools from now.

huh? you said you wanted to go to columbia med for its name, and i said columbia doesnt have a super med school…i cant really understand what you just wrote lol

I hope I’m not the only person that realises heywhyhi and soccerkid are blatant ■■■■■■ - most likely the same person also. They’re feeding off of the attention you give them. Stop taking the bait and they will go away.

random question: were we supposed to send in our senior year first quarter grades?

Collegeftw: well I didn’t do any grad school searching yet. I just assumed it had a name in that field.

@ice-cream: No

^^ I was wondering the same thing. So I asked my guidance counselor about it. Her response?

The admissions office probably has enough information about you to drown in it. If they want to see your grades we’ll send them in an instant – but otherwise: don’t bother them.

ahh why am i still not getting a notification email?? this is making me so nervous lol i can barely sleep at night without having a ton of dreams about decision day :frowning:
btw does anyone know where to check for the decision? like is it in the same place as where we check our status of all the things we sent to them?

LOLOLOLOL ur too funny hahahhaa

wait i’m confused…i checked the “quote message in reply” thing but it didn’t quote the message in the reply…LOL so now no one knows who i’m talking to and i probably seem like an idiot haha but i was referring to clippers50fan’s post about bad words :P

cuz baby your a firework
