Columbia 2015 hopefuls

There are similar threads in the Yale, Harvard, and Princeton forums so I decided to start one here as well.

This is the third ivy league school I'm applying to and the one I really want to get into. I live in New York so it's only half an hour drive away from my house.

Anyone else applying?

I’m EDing to SEAS. This is actually the only Ivy I’m considering, but that might change once/if I get rejected. I live in the South, and I’ve wanted to go somewhere bigger and more diverse for a while.

EDing SEAS.

Thing working against me Gpa… lol

Hey =D
I’ll apply too, only RD.
I visited the campus and really loved it, but i’m not sure its my first choice.

I’m applying. =) RD though, since I want to compare aid offers…

I’ll be applying next year. Jagdish Bhagwati = Awesome.

Hey! You stole my idea for a thread! D: I’m pretty fanatical about getting into Columbia (it’s the one Ivy League school that I can actually see myself having a decent shot at, as well as having a bunch of other advantages that the others don’t have). In any case, I was thinking of applying ED for quite a while, but since my family wants to compare financial aid packages before making a decision, we thought RD would be the better route. Plus, I’m not sure if I can get everything in by the November 1st deadline…

SEAS Early Decision! Biomedical Engineering!!!

@Jersey13? ED or RD? CC or SEAS?

Applying ED to CC. My parents are concerned about aid packages… But Columbia is definitely my #1 choice, so…

I’ll apply RD to CC for financial reasons. I don’t think I’ll get in, but I will surely try!

EDing CC. Columbia is definitely my first choice. The campus is beautiful and corresponds nicely with the metropolitan environment of New York.

RD and College

^ Same as Jersey13. What are your prospective majors? (if you’ve got any at this point)

I think I wanna do pre-med but I’m still confused.

^ Awesome! I’m actually not sure if Columbia offers a pre-med major specifically… have you looked into that? I’m probably going to major in German, with a secondary field in political science.

From what I recall from previous posts, Jersey13’s made it pretty clear that he’s an Econ guy. :P

^pre-med isn’t a major. It’s more of course.

That’s right lol, probably Econ and IR. However I’m also considering Finance & Math.

What are everyone’s feelings about the core, like it or dislike it.

I would probably major in english and, maybe, minor in music.
