Hahaha no, if its a deferral they’re trying to decide, but thats kinda upsetting, either rejection or accepted, absolutes aren’t fun.

yea i sent my quarter 1 grades with my ED app… before nov 1st…

our quarter ended before nov 1st (sometime late october)

or did they call and ask for grades after that?- like mid quarter 2?- that seems quite pointless…

I’m not sure, but my marking period ended at the end of November, so my grades were unavailable til ~Dec 1 anyways. I am just so nervous because all of these people are talking about sending first marking period grades and I didn’t send anything because nothing was available until last week, and my guidance counselor never got a call.

So I guess, according to a few, this either means a rejection or an acceptance. I agree with die4columbia, I dislike absolutes to the maxxx

hey ya (iwanttobegandalf)…when you send in ur 1st 9 weeks grades, did you do it on your own (scan, email. w/e) or did you get your counselor to do it?

If they call, what does it mean?

Tomorrow’s so near… it’s hard to stay sane.
On the other hand, I know now for sure I will get a rejection, having read all the superscores of other students who applied. I guess being an international does not help much either…

Good luck everyone!

^ don’t view college confidential as being the end all for getting in, only a small, albeit dedicated portion of the applicants post on here. And being an international student is actually a major hook, depending on where from, some of the admissions officers could press very hard for you to get in. Don’t give up hope, for the next day it’s all we have.

Do y’all think what we put as our intended major has any impact on acceptance? Like, if they have too many of a certain one, they try to limit the number of those people they accept? Or, in my case, I put that I intend to study Music Performance, so do y’all think that would be helpful in any way?

I would think it might have some impact, but only for very borderline students. I’m sure Columbia knows that there are a large number of students who will change or truly don’t know what their major will be.

“And being an international student is actually a major hook”
not reaallllllyyyyy haha but yeah colhopeful definitely dont give up hope.

countdown begins? 20 MO HOURSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

In 10 minutes I’m going to sleep just for the sake of forwarding the time lol. When I wake up isA it should be 11 hours left :P

We’ve toiled hard for more than three years in high school for this moment. Isn’t that a weird thought?

tone…3 years? dont underestimate haha

TWELVE YEARS OF SCHOOLS SINCE 1st GRADE FOR THIS!!! AHHH!!!

Ugh, true. All I can think about is how all that effort and work has the potential to be validated tomorrow… or not.

i wish i could be in the countdown but since im from cali, the scores should be posted after i get home from school…around 3:30, which is 6:30 eastern time :(.

^ actually it’s 5:30 EST when you’d get home.

You won’t be too late. :)

lol. no. definitely 6:30

^Nah she’s right, it’s 6:30.
Cali is three hours behind…I know this because I too am PST (from Washington). I will be getting off of school at 2:35 (5:35 EST). I am tempted to skip 6th period and come home, but I would have to explain to my mom why I skipped…and she doesn’t know I am finding out tomorrow yet. I like to ignore things and pretend they don’t exist with other people, so they don’t build up expectations. Or I could open the email at school…but that sounds rather risky.

You know what’s more painful than seeing the decision late due to having stuff (like school). Coming from school and 2:30 pm and having to wait another 2 and a half hours staring at the computer screen while pressing F5.

Oops, I thought Arizona and California currently had the same time. :P
