Columbia 2015 hopefuls

^^^I live IN the city…so my time is more similar to Columbia’s by a couple of degrees LOL

I just read the decisions from the class of 2014, freaking EVERYONE got deferred, honestly almost ever person i read, i honestly hope its different this year, more acceptances!!

^ It’s interesting – because at my school, no one’s ever been deferred. Only accepted or rejected ED.

hmm, im not quite sure if that quells my fears or not. I need to stay off this site, it makes me so nervous honestly. Ill check back in with y’all during the day thursday, until then.

Oh gawddd. I was doing so well. I only thought about Columbia two or three times at school and only once for a split second at work (then I forced myself to put it out of my mind). But then I saw the email…arghhh. I NEED TO GO WORK ON HOMEWORK. I have SO FREAKING MUCH, but instead I am on CC. The one good thing though is I have a major test on Wednesday and an even more major test on Thursday, so at least I will have other things on my mind…

So do you guys think they already made the decisions and that they’re saved on some file on some computer in some room? Or are they still finalizing?

“Thank you for your Early Decision application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our application review and will soon notify candidates of our decisions.”

I would say if not done, very near.

OMG soooooo nearrrr yet soooooooo far away

^ naomikt, what’s that from? the tracker?

^ Nope. The e-mail they sent and the Admissions Website: [Columbia University Office of Undergraduate Admissions](Home | Columbia Undergraduate Admissions)

okay, so it’s agreed? we meet back here 4:30 pm on Thursday and spend the last half an hour freaking out together? and if I get deferred I’ll be sooo mad, but I’ve accepted it, at least I’ll find out about money and admission decisions from other schools… let’s stay positive, guys!

That’s the spirit Andrea!! Positivity, People. 4:30, you can count on me being here for the freak out! :D

So I finally gathered the courage today to ask my guidance counselor if she got a call from Columbia concerning nine weeks grades…and she said neither she nor the secretary received any such call. Now I feel super depressed and nervous and I am terrified of what I’ll see on Thursday.

I can already feel my dreams of acceptance slipping through my fingers :(

Do they typically call schools for nine weeks grades? If so I was entirely unaware

That’s what people around here have been saying…

Typically? I strongly doubt it. I believe, from what I’ve read and heard, that they call about special (perhaps borderline) cases.

Yeah, my counselor told me they usually call about 9 week grades if they’re unsure about acceptance…as in, they’re not sure about an applicant. I feel like it would be a bad thing, not good…

So if people’s GC’s didn’t get called, then it was either a straight up acceptance or rejection? That makes me quite nervous haha, but I feel a bit better.

^^^Or deferral

I called the admissions office and asked about the senior grade and they said I should ask my guidance counselor fax my 1st quarter grade so we did it. I thought everyone did the same…
