***Columbia 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

This wait is excruciating!

Y’all dudes are making me contemplate the 80$ i paid. I got a score of 1350 and think i got a good chance at this.

@maddieportnoy18 a lot I guess. I guess my essay and supplements were great. My recommendations were strong as well. My IB predicted was 44/45. I also have a high school diploma from Ghana with perfect grades. I took Math II and Chemistry- both 760. I have a good number of extracurriculars and international and national honors.

bruh I literally have a great act score but L gpa lol, it’s all up to the gods at this point

@burnaokb All the best. My S is also from Ghana

My SAT score is kinda bad but my GPA is high. I’m a URM. Columbia is my dream I’ve had the Alma Mater as the background on my phone for like two years lol

I went ahead and made an ivy league decision countdown, don’t know if you’ll want to check it out or not, but it seemed like a fun thing to do. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=179&iso=20180328T19&year=2018&month=3&day=28&hour=19&min=0&sec=0&msg=Ivy%20League%20Decisions%20RELEASED

@burnaokb What do you think set you apart? Your EC’s, essays?

Columbia has actually contacted me a few times, and I also went over to Manhattan to check whether any part of my application was missing. It would’ve been great if I got into Columbia because my cousin goes to Columbia Med School and my twin brothers were also accepted to the Masters program. But I guess, I’ll be the underdog in the family.

@ambkeegan I think my essays and I hold a leadership position in most of my ECs

I don’t think I’ve been contacted by Columbia besides the general FA email and decision notification…Welp, ready for this L!!! Columbia is a massive reach but it’ll still sting

@erstwhile Same, but I received my general FA email very late (March 24). This process is just so confusing. :-/

I’m nervous honestly. Have a 33 ACT and a LOR from an alum and the head of Orthopedics at Columbia University Medical Center, but still think it’s such a long shot.

I didn’t submit my IDOC to Columbia and they’re not requesting, does this mean I got rejected?

@myskoolcool I think that you’re not rejected, just you can’t be considered for financial aid if you are a US resident

@seekingseeking You can still submit the IDOC tho, so is it really too late? I know they take late documents.

Can someone please clarify this whole financial aid fiasco. If I haven’t been contacted about financial aid does that mean all hope is lost?

I was under the impression that financial aid was completely separate from admissions since these are need-blind schools. I have schools asking for financial aid info on the IDOC portal, but I was only contacted like once for a couple of them. Williams contacted me a lot about financial aid and I ended up getting waitlisted so idk

last week i tried logging into the admitted students log in and it redirected to my portal now when i log in through the admitted students page it takes to to the harvard admissions page. anyone know what that means?

my bad wrong forum lol
