I'm a senior at a very competitive Southern California high school (top 500 in the US by US News). Im applying to Columbia College RD, and I need some help filing out the short answers on part II; I want it to be it as unique and as great as possible. Also, I would like someone to read my essays, and decide which essay is better for Columbia; I have two. If you got into Columbia, please help me. My SN is aszx5527, and my email is aszx5527@hotmail.com. It would also be nice if you guys can give me ur SNs. Thanks!!! I really want to go to Columbia!!!

My SATs: 2110 (V680,M760,W670)
SAT II's: 770 US History; 790 Math IIC; Im not reporting my third SAT II because I bombed on it, but I'm retaking it in Jan
My GPA: 3.73 uw; 4.3 w; my rank is 40, but this is because my school only ranks based on unweighted GPA, so many people without any AP classes have higher ranks. I took 4 AP classes last year, and 5 this year.
I have many extracurriculars, including an Internship for Congresswoman Linda Sanchez.

Just answer the short answers honestly and spontaneously. If someone has to help you with those, you aren't going to be as unique.

Send me a PM with the two essays and I'll read them and give you some general feedback. I'm not going to edit them though, because that takes way too much time.

BTW, your high school is pretty obvious to deduct!

Hi, Obviously Columbia 2002 is older and has more experience, but if you would like I can also look at your essays for you. I have a winter break coming up so I'll have some time. You're probably curious so I'll tell you that I did get accepted ED if that makes you feel better about me reading. pm me if you want my email and such. Good luck.

Im from Cerritos High School, not Whitney High School. Cerritos High School is still recognized as one of the top public high schools in America. Whitney only admits students based on standerized test scores.

Does it really matter that much if your high school is ranked in US News? I'm not saying it doesn't, I would honestly like to know. My high school is in the top 30. Will colleges really care?

What matters is how Columbia views the various schools within one region. You're ultimately competing against the other kids from your HS and other area high schools.

I don't know, Whitney is the number one school in California, and I hope Columbia can cut me some slack in knowing I'm a student from Cerritos competing with Whitney students.

The way it normally works is they compare u against the people in your school. You then get points added or deducted based on your school's rank compared against other schools.

columbia2002, am I completely wrong? I suddently am not sure.

WT! You guys are stressing me out! I just really want to go to Columbia! You guys should team up and help me mold the perfect application. Just see this as a volunteer activity. haha

When it asks you to tell what you find most appealing about Columbia, how did you guys go about filling the online app? They have 10 lines and they want me to explain to them why I find them the most appealing. Do I have to list ten things and give a sentence explanation for each? Help would be greatly appreciated
