***Columbia 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

@california32146 , same here DS received for engineering… we are from NorCal

was this batch for engineering kids?

what im thinking is that columbia sends them out in waves. A vast majority of this wave was engineering applicants but, i know of very few that were from columbia college. so i’d say more will come out soon

My son applied to College not an engineering. He is not an athlete.

exactly

Do u think they review the applications in the order that they were sent in?

Do they review applications before all required materials have been sent? My mid year report has not yet been sent, and my interview isn’t until this Saturday, so I was wondering if they’ve already rejected me or if they don’t look at my profile at all until everything’s in.

@btsftw they do not do that.

Nope @summerhazed, read this: https://www.collegeconfidential.com/dean/what-are-likely-letters-like/

I got that Financial Aid email too! @jprtaco

Me-2 @jprtaco

Feb9FAemail ;)

Yet again, just got an email from columbia and thought it was a LL however it was another email about the Narrative medicine program in SPS(school of professional studies)… >:)

Columbia is messing with me now :))

@greeneandh They are totally messing with you! Maybe they only tease the ones they love?

Ahhhh i hope!
I never went on the columbia website for the SPS Narrative medicine either… I also just had my interview so I don’t think they would have a decision on me now? :-?

the wait is actually killing me :-&

Ds is not Athlete but applied for engineering

I heard there is another batch of LL early March

If someone from my school got a likely letter, would it still be possible for me to get one as well? Or does it mean that they’ve probably already seen my app and didn’t give my app a likely status?

@hizzlep Most admittedly students do not receive likely letters. Don’t worry if you don’t get one.

is there anyone here who ~didn’t~ get the feb 9 email? i did, but i don’t see it as an indicator of admission or not. thoughts?

I’m pretty sure everyone got it. In general, financial aid is separate from the admissions process. So, I guess we’re reading too much into that email.
Also, congrats to all those who got Likely Letters!
