***Columbia 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

@blmom1
Where did you hear another wave of LLs are coming out in early March?

Hey guys, I just got an email that I am being considered for the Egleston Scholarship for Engineering. I also got a LL earlier today. This sounds like a cool scholarship; does anyone know roughly what percentage of students who receive this email/are candidates for Egleston ultimately receive it? Thanks!

got a columbia college likely letter! good luck to all :slight_smile:

@trashnastygaming I also got an email about the Egleston Scholars program. Based on the bios link they sent us, it looks like around 10 people get into the program each year. Not sure how many people are considered for it though.

Ok y’all I’m gonna need some advice. So I decided to send 3 additional essays to Columbia last night out of paranoia that they wouldn’t be able to fully characterize me through the essays that I sent on the Common App. Is this going to hurt my chances at being accepted? I feel like such an idiot rip me

Congrats to LL recipients. Can you guys post a summary of your stats? GPAs, standardized test scores? Major congratulations on a hell of an accomplishment!

My DS stats: 1590 SAT (one take - sophomore year) SAT Math2, Chem, Bio 800. 11 APs, 5 - senior year… all 5 … until now. GPA 4 w 4.7. Volunteering with underprivileged kids for a long time. President of 3 clubs in his HS. CSSA - freshman year. Biotech interneship for 2 summers

@Volunteerism , if you look at the thread for 2021, there was LL letters around 2/20 and then again around 3/2

@blmom1 Thanks!

Anyone else who received a LL also receive an invitation for an early Financial Aid package?

@nuvemseis , stellar stats. Thank you for sharing!

@greeneandh Yeah. You should be able to join it. There are admins that cross check your name. And if they deny you, see if you can find the admin and send him a pic of your likely letter. Also relevant meme = instant popularity.

I requested the Facebook group and got rejected from it after getting a likely letter :confused:

@calculess lol I misread that and thought you said you got rejected from Columbia

just got an email for an interview! it’ll be over skype! so excited! anyone who has had a columbia interview have any tips?

Has anyone from India got interview call from Columbia? I have not received.

Daughter had a skype interview with a student who is currently in her intended major. From her description of the interview, it was mostly just an opportunity to talk with a current student to get a feel for what it would be like to be a student at Columbia. Seems like it’s not really something that would have much bearing on admissions at all.

Wow! Incredible student. Congrats!

My interview was laid back and casual-- it was actually very enjoyable and I learned a lot from my interviewer!

@stanford2022 - Yes, my daughter’s classmate in Bangalore got an interview invite.
