SAT: 2350 (1 sitting...not bothering again) [800M/790CR/760W] - if I had taken this in 11th as opposed to 10th, my Writing would have been higher... but with 5 APs my junior year... NOT worth it.
GPA:
uw: 4.0
w: 4.76 (might be higher now)

ECs... look at some of my other posts... most notably ~1200 hours of research in a PET Radiopharmaceuticals lab at NIH accumulated over the course of a year.

Regular Decision... Just decided to apply last night, haha... I'm so average compared to you people.

no you are above average! are you kidding me!

If that's average then I might scrape by as being mediocre

a tenth grader getting a 2350 is insane. I got a 2180 as an eleventh grader

I don't think your 10th grade scores count. You have to take it in the year you apply. So if you are applying to be admitted for the 2007-2008 year, you should have taken SATs/ACTs in 2007. So for the class of 2007, tests in the spring of you junior of fall of your senior year would be acceptable.

Also, scores aren't everything youngins! The valedictorian at my school (perfect SAT and ACT) got rejected from to Columbia. I got in with an SAT 2020.

Everyone can have good tests scores. Make yourselves stand out with your application. And if Columbia is your dream, definitely apply ED!

No, everything in high school counts. CB reports all scores from ninth grade onwards on the same score report, and colleges consider everything they get.

Plus, a friend of mine got a 1600 (old scale) sophomore year, didn't take the test again, and got into Wharton.

pounces on theoneo... i WUV you!

I know scores aren't everything :) I've got a couple nice essays lined up... they aren't necessarily sane but then again neither am I!

Last night I wrote down all my reasons to go with Yale ED and Columbia ED.

I slept on it.

Now I've got a plan and I'm sticking with it.

It's Columbia ED for me.

Okay, I'm waffling here.

I want to be a writer. Is Columbia really the place?

I read that Princeton's got a great writing department.

Yale might be better.

But I like the idea of the core and being in NYC. I could get a jump start.

Want to do magazines, short stories, try to learn to write a novel.

The internships in NYC would be so great. The connections and directions from the faculty would be so great.

I'm still wondering. Maybe I don't have a plan, yet.

if you can't decide, then doing ED anywhere is a horrible idea. Just do RD or EA everywhere, because you don't want to be bound somewhere and then decide that it's not the place for you after all

You can't really beat NYC. And there's not much to do around Princeton - especially compared to NYC.

Eww... Lieberman. =P

I would, if you didn't NEED to take the SATII Chemistry or Physics. (at least according to their book) I wouldn't get in anyway, so it saves me room for another college to apply to. ;)
