Does anyone know whether Columbia will be looking at the scores for the Writing Portion of the SAT I test for next year's admissions? (2007) I know that they didn't look at it this year (most colleges didn't) but I have heard that Harvard and Penn have stated that they will starting this year. Anyone know about Columbia? Thanks~!

I went to a Columbia information session a few months ago, and the admissions representative guy said that they won't be considering the Writing portion.

Sucks for me, cause I got an 800.

Either way, I know you have to put it down on the app, so at least they'll be seeing an 800 rather than a 600, even if it won't make much of an impact.

whoa, why wouldnt they consider it? They did require the writing SAT II before so its not like its any different now.

Well, Idk.

No schools counted it this year, prob cause there was no previous data on it.

Oh well. I hope they look @ it.

Are you sure this admissions session info wasnt for THIS Year's entering class? (2010). Or was it for us (class of 2011)?

the adcom told me for writing sitll wont be considered for the 2007 application pool....its not much to compare it to....
