Columbia Dilemna, please any helpful insight and advice

Hello all, I am in an a weird situation. I am a prospective Columbia undergrad and I have had some classes from another top 20 university and I like to think I am a competitive applicant like many of you guys on here. I have had a family responsibility and medical issue which has led me to take time off from school in which I had to do what I had to. I am still fairly young and at the college age as it did not take up my whole time, and now I am looking to continue and Columbia seems right for me for many of my own reasons. The issue is, I am fine with applying as a transferring credit bc I was enrolled and have hours from another school and seeing how that goes, but because of me having to take time off to take care of the family issue, I can not apply to Columbia College and by default am sent over to Columbia GS which is the same exact classes and and so on, but I guess by title for non traditional students and offers part time. They explained to me its as rigorous as you are a columbia student just in a different department and I shouldn't really even consider it a difference because it isn't. She said I am on campus taking the same load and challenges as every other student and this is just a way of classifying since I have had a year off.

I was wondering what hold backs there are two this, I am still young, I want the columbia traditional experience, she said I should be able to still get it on here and theres not much of a difference except that htis is flexible for he people who need to be part time for whatever reason and there are some older war vets or people who worked on wall street and started their own business and came back to finish school here, but then she said there are some like myself who very well could've been attending columbia college, but had an extreme circumstance so they are still at columbia, she said not to look at is a difference because its not, the clubs the school, the sports, its all the same,. I am wondering what you guys think, or any insight in this situation. Sorry for any grammar or if this wasn't clear as I just spit it all out to get opinions. Thanks guys.

Your post is absolutely incoherent, and made me dizzy. No idea what you're asking.

so basically you're asking about columbia GS vs columbia college?

I understood your post, but unfortunately do not know enough about Columbia to make any worthwhile suggestions. Have you been admitted to Columbia? Can you return to your other top 20 school? Is Fordham an option?

I think I should be able to get back to my other schools as my numbers and such are still the ones that I originally got in with. It's not a CC vs. GS thing, its just my individual situation which I wanted to just get some insight from. I understand it wasn't well written, but it was just on my mind in the moment and I just kind of freelanced and no proofread. So yea to the folks who don't understand what it says, I don't know why you have to put a mean spirited comment, just move along. To any of those who do, any input is appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read it either way.

I actually find his cutting remarks and sardonic tone quite amusing. There's nothing wrong with blunt realism.

Not sure why we should pay attention to someone with two whopping posts (your first post was to tell people to ignore all posts by me, but you've since told people to ignore only certain of my posts, thereby implicitly acknowledging that my posts are useful and helpful to Columbia, despite your allegation to the contrary).

alright, your posts are useful, please don't make this thread about this. It's an anonymous board, don't make it personal. Anyways, to those with any helpful insight, its very appreciated.
