Columbia Early Decision for Fall 2022 Admission

Columbia University offers Early Decision but does not offer Early Action for freshman admissions.

This year, the Early Decision (ED) deadline for Columbia is November 1.

All ED1 applications should receive an admissions decision by December 15. Last year, Columbia admitted 720 of the 4,461 applicants who applied early decision. The acceptance rate was 16.14%.

Hi, where are you getting the information for the ED acceptance percentage?

Yeah that information is correct. That is probably from the class of 2024. The class of 2025 received 6,435 ED applicantions and accepted 10.1% of those equaling around 650 applications. However, this includes nearly 200 athletes who were issued likely letters and some other applicants who were nearly guaranteed a spot(child of legacy donating 1m+ etc) so the true ED acceptance rate(taking out athletes, and others who were nearly guaranteed to get in) was probably closer to 5 percent.

All the Ivies recruited nearly 200 athletes ED and have other applicants who are nearly guaranteed to get in so taking out 300-350 acceptances from the ED at all Ivies is reasonable.

Thank you for the information. Is there a link or website this information is coming from, though?

If you look up Ivy Coach 2025 Ivy League Admissions Statistics it should come up. I got the information from that site.

The information about athletes I know from people who have been recruited to Ivies have said they are about 200 give or take a few ED recruits.

The number of applicants who are nearly guaranteed to get in is a guess based on the fact that legacies make up 5-20% of each school’s class and some are nearly guaranteed to get it. Additionally, there are a other non legacies who either have significant connections or donations who are nearly guaranteed to get in too.

I see. However, I guess my follow up question is: Where is Ivy League Admissions Statistics Ivy Coach getting its data? Sorry I keep asking the same question, but it just feels like these websites are pulling up with these random percentages lol.

The scour the Universities websites for class of 2025 data that is released to the public usually after the ED(REA for H + Y this past cycle) and RD rounds.

did you take ap classes and not take test?

Hey! I had an interview with alumni on Tuesday. I’m in the Maryland area. I can assure you interviews are given out on an availability/location basis. It doesn’t mean anything from a decision standpoint.
