i just realized that i submitted my sat subject test scores (which were really bad) to columbia by accident…will this hurt my chances or do they just ignore subject test scores bc they arent required
@hopefulsenior109 On their website they said: “No, the SAT Subject Test is not required, but Columbia will accept scores from the exams if you choose to submit them. You will not be at a disadvantage should you choose not to take the tests or submit the scores to Columbia.”
No, they aren’t ignoring the scores, but it’s not weighed as much as SAT, for example. But my guidance teacher told me that since everyone’s submitting them, it hurts me if I don’t submit them and/or send a not ideal score. (I’m an international student so I dunno if it’s the same for you).
@La petite crise cardiaque i didnt self report them though, only sent them through college board (again on accident). because i didnt self report them do you think that they will even look for them?
Whoever posted the Taylor Swift thing I thank you. I was thinking about that too and told my mom “it has to be a lucky day because it’s the day Taylor Swift was born!”
I just hope Columbia is my End Game and Sparks Fly when I get my decision ?
@donaldduck22 my friend who goes to columbia got accepted from a private school in LA along with 6 others!! 3 of them were athletes, but still… getting into college has really become a game so just be proud of the work you put forward and trust that what happens is meant to happen
I know it’s a big deal to make a relationship with your admission representative, but I’m freaking out because I didn’t at all… actually, my representative ignored 3 of my emails and never replied. Did you guys talk to your reps a lot?
Who else has known they were gonna ED to Columbia since day 1?
since eighth grade HAHA but like i learned more about it in hs which made me even more determined to ed to columbia
Hey guys we’re all freaking out for strange reasons. Can we all just take a deep breath and relax, and embrace whatever results that come out?
Lol I was going to ED to Johns Hopkins and changed literally last minute HAHA. All my essays were written in five days
I’ve known since 8th grade as well. I was sure after I spent a month there for a summer program after sophomore year and was literally crying when I left.
Also the admissions representatives get annoyed when you send a lot of emails because Columbia claims to not track demonstrated interest to be fair to everyone. They don’t develop relationships so they aren’t biased.
Hey guys I apply ED but I didn’t get an interview offer. Does this indicate that I didn’t make it?
This just means there were no alumni in your area. Getting an interview or not has no indication of your status, which makes it fair to each applicant.
Has Columbia confirmed date / time of announcement?
Thursday 7 pm EST
Are they going to mail out acceptance letter?
No
Guys, I can’t believe we’re finally almost there! It’s the day before our results come out, and I know we’re all super nervous but I believe in all of us! Whatever happens, I hope we can learn from this experience and mature into more confident people WE CAN DO IT!!
OH NO I just suddenly had a feeling that I made a typo in one of my supplements, so I checked and I wrote “Lower Memorial Library” instead of “Low Memorial Library”. I guess autocorrect must have changed it or something? Is this a big deal??
so i’m british but moved over to the us for my junior & senior year, so my transcript only has my english finals as the grades for freshman and sophomore (so there are a few Bs, but mostly As) but my junior and senior grades are straight As. i’m freaking out because my app isn’t that great (I don’t have many leaderships etc) and my gpa is 4.25W and i have an ACT of 33…please can people post their stats and stuff so i can see how i compare?! (good luck to everyone btw!!!)
