I was wondering if it is true that Columbia ED decisions usually come out the second Thursday of December. Can anyone verify?
I believe it was the fifteenth or the sixteenth
Last year it was Dec 12 I think, which is the second Thursday of December.
According to a reddit thread, it seems like the second Thursday of December is true:
2018: Thursday the 13th
2017: Thursday the 14th
2016: Monday the 12th
2015: Thursday the 10th
2014: Thursday the 11th
2013: Thursday the 12th
Maybe it’s different this year because of COVID-19?
I don’t think their decision necessarily hinges on your scores, but it is likely something they feel they need in order to make a finalized decision.

Definitely it is not a bad sign, if they are going to reject you, why do they need more information?

Anybody heard of Columbia still sending out invites for interviews? My school counselor just messaged me telling me that he heard of 2 more kids receiving invitations to interview. (International here)

In an Instagram live with two admissions officers about 3 days ago they said they were still reviewing applications. They also said that the second Thursday of every month is just a “conspiracy theory” and that it holds no actual weight. Finally, they said that you will get an email multiple days in advance of the decision date with the date and the time they will release.

yeah basically
I asked ao and they said they were going to send a mail of notification a week before the decision came out. Just relax and wait for a pop-up email telling that “oh a week left” in the afternoon class.
