Yikes it’s 2 in the morning and I was like “holy crap…”
Lol gave us all a heart attack. Let’s just wait honestly and patiently for the 13th.
Hey guys! I started a results thread: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/columbia-university/2114919-columbia-class-of-2023-ed-results-p1.html?new=1
It’s the same format as last year’s, so we can reflect once we find out our results
Hey!! Guys I know it’s late but I just wonder how many of you never received an interview. I was never being contacted?. (In Southern California) thanks!!!
I never received an interview
Hey guys! I am currently freaking out right now waiting for results but I’m glad I found this thread so I know I’m not in this alone…
@HopefulPanda2019 Agreed !!! I’m so nervous it’s hard to focus on anything else but worrying, I’m trying not to but it’s so hard… I’m glad I found this thread so I’m not alone too haha
On the issue of interviews… I received one a few weeks ago but the guy said that his recommendation didn’t matter almost at all. Instead we just had a conversation and he answered questions too. I think it went well but now I don’t really think it makes a difference.
No contact for an interview either and we live in a heavily populated area.
I got interview invitation very early but that doesn’t mean anything. The ED acceptance rate is 19.7% last year though. That means almost 20% of us probably will get accepted.
@HopefulPanda2019 You had an interview last week? Didn’t interview recommendations had to be sent in by Nov. 25, but idk though.
Question: does attending the Columbia college edge classes (Saturday classes on the Columbia campus) increase their chances of getting in?
I never got an interview either (Toronto, Canada). What I don’t understand is why Columbia has a special interview program for Chinese students who attended high school in China.
@AwaitingApplicant131 I guess. It shows that you know the campus and that you’re very sure that you want to go there. However, most people don’t have your opportunity and I know that Columbia is one of the fairest schools in the Ivy League so probably not.
@AwaitingApplicant131 . Absolutely does not give you an edge.
I didn’t get an interview either and I’m from NoVA/DC area
It’s so weird how they choose interviews. My interview was an hour away by car in NY. There are probably so many people who applied in the NY area, like how’d they choose me
My interviewer said he gets a random list of names every year. He is on some Presidential board for Columbia and his dad went to Columbia and invented the AP company, so he’s a pretty big deal at Columbia. So. Intimidating.
@ncystresb It was a few weeks ago
I had my interview the first weekend after the deadline and it was like 3 minutes away from my house but I also liven a big city so idk.
@HopefulPanda2019 oh sorry I totally missed the word “few” when I was reading just assumed you said last week
