Columbia (Engineering Management) VS Cornell (Operations Research)

I am having a difficult time choosing between Columbia Engineering Management Systems program and Cornell Operations Research program. Both are 1 year Masters program. If I want to go into consulting/finance in top companies which would be a better choice? I heard Cornell Engineering is stronger especially in Operations Research and their are more classes to take in this field but Columbia is situated in Manhattan.

It seems like most of the people in the IEOR department at Columbia do either Financial Engineering or Operations Research. I couldn't find any review about their Engineering Management Systems program. Anyone here got any idea about their Engineering Management Systems program?

columbia MSOR.

Comparing OR to EM is really like comparing apples and oranges. I had one OR class in my MEM, but most of my curriculum was completely different.

MEM is a different curriculum than MS-EMS. MEM is less quantitaively oriented than MS-EMS.

EMS (Engineering Management Systems) is a sub-branch of OR.

Ahh ok I gotcha. I thought they were the same.

So what is your final choice?
