Any current students at the Fu Foundation school that can give some insights? How does it compare with upenn/cornell in engineering? I'm interested in engineering, but I'm still not sure. Can I still take classes at columbia college/minor in the college while attenting the fu college?

What kind of insights do you want? I'll answer your specific questions, however.

Cornell probably has better engineering departments on the whole, meaning that their professors are more famous / publish more / get more grant money / etc. Penn and Columbia engineering are probably similar. Of course, this varies from department to department. However, people who choose to come to Columbia for engineering get all that NYC and Columbia have to offer.

You have to take classes at the college. You take about 2/3 of the core, and must take several other non-technical electives. You can minor in a variety of college majors, too.

But if you were to take, lets say, psychology at columbia and psychology at Fu, would there be a different, and less prominent, professor at Fu?

Huh? The engineering school only has engineering (and applied sciences) departments. Everything else you take (psychology, english, chemistry, etc.) is taught by non-engineering faculty.

only engineering majors are offered at Fu, you can take some college minors. you non-engineering classes (core/non-tech elective) will be taken with college (and some barnard/GS) students.

I also think cornell has the better engineering department.. but columbia has nyc.
