Columbia Grad School Advice?

I'm currently at a small state school, and I'm curious as to how I can gain admission into Columbia for grad school. I'm confident I can make it out of my undergrad with at least a 3.8, possibly 4.0 if I step up it up a little bit.

I'd like to gain admission into the School of Arts and Sciences, for Modern Art, Critical, and Curatorial Studies.

So, I was really wondering what I could do to raise my chances where I have a fair shot, if I do at all. Community service? GPA? Professor recommendations? If you have any tips, I would sincerely appreciate them. I'd just like to go ahead and start now, that way I can have a chance to get done whatever I need to do.
