If you wanted to go to grad school from here...

How difficult is it to get good grades, i.e. above a 3.7, if you're majoring in chemistry, bio, or physics? How difficult is it to become a research assistant for a professor here?

I'm thinking of transferring to Columbia for chemistry because at my current school, the chem department sucks. We have a real good chemical engineering dept, but I guess that's not the thing that floats my boat.

Any replies would be wonderful, especially from former transfers who "made it" and current students. :)

where are you at now?

Colorado school of mines

The average GPA is 3.374 if that helps any--but I don't know the data for specific majors.

If you have the stats to get into Columbia as a transfer (very competitive), you'll have no problems getting into a science graduate program.
