also seems like they would call a select few for interviews…lol
I haven’t heard anything either but I can log into my finacial aid portal. Past posts said that it might be an indicator that you are accepted but I don’t know how true that is.
I am also waiting for it. I will post if I get anything on 8th or 9th.
How did you log into your financial aid portal? I tried putting a C in front of my application reference number then my date of birth and it didn’t work. Was there something else I needed to do? I assume it’s because I didn’t fill out the financial aid application since I would want to defer for Fall '18.
they emailed your student ID number when you submitted your app.
You use your student ID not your reference number. It starts with CU and they emailed it to you after you applied. @everynight were you able to log in?
I tried with the cid but no soup. Who knows what happens.
I tried logging into my finaid with my CUID with no luck hopefully not a bad sign…
I wouldn’t read much into it tbh
Yeah I wouldn’t be too concerned. In the previous posts they mentioned people didn’t have access to it until the day they were accepted. So don’t worry about it.
@Everynight yeah, I don’t think it is accurate… I was able to log in and it showed me year 2014/2015 when I applied for Columbia College back in high school. I wasn’t even accepted lol @monkey227 Did yours show 2017/2018?
@monkey227 it does sound promising though. Might mean you’re first wave of acceptance. Fingers crossed for you bro.
honestly this whole practice of checking to the financial aid portal is maddening…I cannot log in either. I guess that means Im rejected? Great. A whole year of busting my a** at my CC, dreaming of going to this school, down the drain. If @monkey227 can log in, I would assume he is accepted. But what about the rest of us? I feel like someone should alert the admissions office that people are checking the financial aid portal as an indicator for acceptance…It’s really not fair, and maddening, and confusing. It might even be helpful if they would put out a statement about whether that is an accurate predictor or not.
@TheManInBlack relax brother I’m 100% sure that it doesn’t mean anything in regards to rejection. If you look in past threads it means very little. In the 2015 thread there was a bunch of people that couldn’t log in then they got accepted days later. Calm down, you’re going to be okay even if you don’t get in.
lol overreacting bro
TBH I can understand your frustrating, especially when you want something so bad or work really hard to get in somewhere but its not over until its over and the reality is that no actual decisions have been sent out yet.
@timeforback it gives me two years 2012/2013 and 2013/2014. I’ve never applied to Columbia before. I think it could also be from a system error so @TheManInBlack you can relax. I don’t think it means anything at all.
@Everynight thanks man. I hope we all get in. I’ll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything. So far still nothing yet.
@monkey227 Thanks for sharing. Good luck to everyone!
Thanks all…for allaying my fears, at least temporarily. I hope that each and every one of us gets in. This wait is a killer though! I think someone pointed out that last fall, someone got an acceptance on the 9th, which is tomorrow. Who knows, it could go all the way til the 15th or beyond. Looks like there are 4 or 5 Early Action II applicants in this forum, surpised there arent more…out of the hundreds that are probably applying. Good luck to all of you…the wait continues. I have a backup plan in case GS doesnt want me for whatever reason, so im reminding myself of that.
hey all – i applied oct 30th (a bit “late”) and I’m wondering when i’m supposed to hear back
maybe december 20th? that’s so far away
