Has anyone been accepted to the Columbia Honors Science Program (or rejected)? Do you know that they look for and how was the test?

I currently attend the Columbia SHP...I got in the spring of my junior year so I had already taken biology, chemistry, and physics in school, so the first two sections of the test (a math and science) were really easy. The third section was significantly more challenging but I guess I did okay because I got in. My two friends who took the test with me (one was a freshman, other was a sophomore) found the whole test rather difficult and they both didn't get in. I don't really remember the admissions process but I did have to get a teacher/counselor recommendation, and I believe I had to mail my transcript as well. Anyway, the program's really great, we have access to the Columbia libraries and you get to meet a bunch of smart kids in the area :)
Good luck!

The test is easiest in 11th grade, but you can take it as early as 9th. I got in and I'm having a great time! :) Why's this under Yale...?

yeah i do it too, i thought test was mad easy (sophmore year)
how cool the program is totally depends on what classes you take, neurbio is the best, immunology sucks

I take Intro to Psych (definitely a slacker's way out of actually thinking on a saturday morning) and it's pretty awesome so far because I don't have any room to take psych at my school.

^no way. I'm also taking Intro to Psych. I guess I must be in your class. Who would have thought?

im soo scared is everyone their really smart? are the classes diffucult?

it doesn't really matter because you don't get grades or tests. basically, the classes are just for the love of learning about science. just take the test and give it a try.

3rd person taking intro to psych XD

whoa we all must meet each other this saturday! haha i will bring a sign that says "crash_blair" and "sundaydate" be my friend! hmm in case it will ring any bells, i'm an asian girl who sat near the back this week.
