<p>2) @theartsyone I would say you have a GREAT shot. Your academics are way above average, and URM status + first generation gives you a boost. </p>
<p>3) your extracurriculars are not all over the place, they primarily focus on music and writing and you do have distinction in those areas.</p>
<p>4) At this point, do work on your essays, but I would say a mediocre essay wouldn’t kill you (still aim for your best though lol). Your teacher/counselor recs should be astonishing, given your academic/extracurricular record. As long as you didn’t have anything bad on your record (academic fraud, fighting, etc.) … I think you will most likely be admitted early decision! </p>
<p>5) You’ll get in somewhere good, that’s for sure, even if its not Columbia. Don’t fret too much over the summer haha, but do take advantage of it (volunteer, work, enrichment programs, and work on your application lol). </p>
