COLUMBIA MFA DIRECTING THEATRE

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me a little bit more about the interview process and the likelihood of me getting into Columbia University’s MFA Directing program for Theatre. I don’t go to an Ivy currently, I am going to an affordable university for my undergrad because I knew I would go to graduate school or what to go to grad school (So, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money). I figure life experience is more valuable than GPA. However, currently my GPA is 3.76. My Theatre classes however are all “As.”
Speaking of life experience, a lot of the work I do has been with the university. The biggest people I’ve worked with is Ping Chong & Co. and I know and one alumni from the program. I want ever so badly to get into this program. I also am wondering the age of people getting into Columbia and if there ever was a student right out of undergrad who gets in. Also, if anyone has and insight to the theatre program or something to share I am all ears.
I am currently going into my last year and will be doing a large honors thesis project in which I study styles of theatre and go on to direct a play for the department.

Is it possible to get into Columbia without having been in an Ivy league school?
Can I do it fresh out of the water?
What is something that they truly are looking for? (I’m not here to tailor my interview to it I just want to know)
Can an application be too slim for Columbia?
