Just wondering if anyone knows how they tell you if you are a named scholar. Do you get a phone call or an email in advance...or do you just have to wait for your acceptance letter and it's in there? Has anyone out there already been notified for this year? If you got a likely letter was it in there? Thanks for any input available.

So I just googled this up and I guess Egleston is a named scholar. I just got a letter from Columbia telling me I was likely to be a scholar. I think since they’re all sponsoring different types of students and from different schools, the delivery method might be different however. I’d wait for the admittance letter to check.

Yeah I got a “likely” package as a Rabi Scholar. So it should come in a package? At least that’s from my experience.

Oh cool Juhuatai. Yeah I think most of the people named scholars are also the non-recruited likely students. Congrats on your scholar thing :D

haha thanks Wendeli, maybe we’ll see each other at the Columbia Visiting Day!

If we received the “likely” package for Rabi scholars in the mail what is the odds of actually becoming a Rabi scholar? I received it today but I’m not really sure what it means…

It essentially means don’t let us catch you doing drugs, don’t fail your classes and don’t break the law. If you can manage that, you’re a Rabi scholar Difficult, I know. LOL
