Talents and Awards
- hmm... none I can think of other than the ones listed above.
- I've been playing violin for the past 9 years
- I've written a novel

Other
- I maintain a part-time job during the school year, working about 15hrs a week.
- I lifeguard full-time during the summer, while still maintaining the part time job.

AP/IB Coursework
- AP English Language 3
- IB Theatre Arts 5
- The rest of my IB Diploma tests aren't till May

Essay - Writing is definitely my strong point. It'll probably be about the quirky irrationalities that have shaped my personality. (My father's a polygamist, I was pretty much raised in a cult, my little brother's autism, etc.)

References - I should be getting really good ones from my counselor, my english teacher I've had for 3 years, and I'm debating between my theatre teacher of 4 years & my NHS advisor.

ECs - I'm really passionate about community service, especially the Invisible Children. I'm also really into Theatre (trying out for fall play & spring musical), and will likely be pursing film studies.

Yeah, my SAT's are bad, but I'm 96% certain they'll raise dramatically. So assuming I score +2000, and my SATII's are decent, what are my chances.

Hey I’m applying to columbia ed too! And I’m an African American female too. And I’m a self-proclaimed writer. The objective is decent, save for you sat 1, and the subjective is impressive and may be enough to get you in ED if your essay’s spectacular. But what do I know… :)

what college at NYU?

definitely competitive if you raise your SATs.

just raise ur sat a little over 2050 or above … u have chance for NYU
