Hey guys! i'm a NYU Stern freshman looking to transfer to Columbia College for 2010. Anyone have any tips or advice? I know that i have to have like close to a 4.0 gpa ><. If any transfers would be willing to share their stats, it would be totally awesome!

does columbia allow u to retake sat’s or sat II’s?

Yes, but there is no need for it. In short, the SATs are a HS level test, and improving your score in college is expected. Unless you did TERRIBLE (<1850), do not retake.

^Not true, retake for the highest possible score if aiming for Columbia. You want at least their freshmen median.

do either of you have factual evidence to support your claims?

Ummmm…I used to be an adcom at any ivy? And because it was many moons ago and this question comes up again and again, I queried two top college adcoms about a month ago.

thanks for the info!

Lol… I talked to the adcoms at Penn.

i’m inclined to believe what adcoms say to each other, as opposed to what adcoms say to the general public.
nonetheless, i hope there’s some veracity to what you’ve been told viola, because i didn’t retake the SATs before applying for transfer admission at penn.

thanks for the info guys!
