transfer question: need to retake SATs?

Hello there.
I am a freshman at NYU-Stern, and I'd like to try transfer to Columbia. I am fairly confident of my GPA, ECs, admission essays and recommendations, but my SAT seems a bit low for the school's average. Will it help to retake the SATs as a college student?

my credentials -
College: 3.8 GPA, Management Consulting Group (Valued member), Stern Scholars, Tutor at Urban School of Business for Young Women.

High School: Student Council President, Tenor Section Leader (School Choir), School Play (Played major roles - 3 years), Perfect Attendance Award for 4 years.

SAT: 2120 (CR: 710, Math: 800, Writing: 610)
SATs: 800s (Math IIC, Bio and Korean), 690 (writing)
AP: took 5 out of 6 courses offered - got 4 and 5s

They dont look at transfer students SATs anyway, just GPA and extracurriculars. Why do you wanna transfer from Stern anyway, its a top notch business school.

Yes, they do.

hupkorea,

You don't need to retake the SATs. They far surpass the 75th percentile of accepted students at Texas A&M.

Oh wait, you're applying to Columbia. Sorry. Well, you don't need to retake them. They are satisfactory for Columbia.

Your SATs are almost above the 75th percentile at Columbia, I really wouldn't worry at all.

nsepds, could you please keep all your insecurities into one thread? Im sure the OP doesnt appreciate you derailing his threads too.

Huh? I was just stating facts. I think someone else here may be insecure for even attempting to make such an absurd point. Only a person with a guilty conscience would think that I was making an implicit reference to them in that post.

:l

Why else would you mention texas A&M?

Oh I forgot, reading comprehension isn't your thing. My apologies.

Ya see, you responded with such confidence that I merely assumed that the poster intended to transfer to A&M.

I read the OP's post, saw that he planned to apply to Columbia, subsequently realized "Vyse doesn't have, and never did have a flying s h i t's chance at Columbia, so how would he know about their admissions policies?" and corrected you.

(for the record, this is far too easy)

Hilariously enough, I had post #9 typed up and saved, ready to cut and paste. Vyse's response was that predictable.

Oh well, intellectual inferiors are too easy. yawn

No, you FUBARed again, and are now engaging in a little revisionist history. I suggested that he NOT transfer. Why would I tell him not to transfer to MY school? Again bro, reading is FUNdamental.

And for the record, if his 2120 SAT is satisfactory for Columbia, so is my 2100.

Really? I didn't see such a suggestion.

You see, vyse, that's a QUESTION! Q U E S T I O N... Questions are different from suggestions.

That's a good boy.

By the way, the 3.6 in HS would've kept you out. Sorry man:/

Maybe, maybe not. I wasnt interested in finding out whether or not I could have moved across the country and paid 30k a year to go to school I didnt have any friends at.

And while we're on the subject of reading, what was going through your mind when the OP said, "I'd like to try transfer to Columbia"?

I jumped to your post first. I needed a good laugh for the day.

Yeah, it's not as if Columbia doesn't meet 100% of one's financial need... not.

Not having friends is far down your list of problems!

Maybe, maybe not.

No, I am quite sure it is just "not." "Maybe" is superfluous.

Nice excuse. Oh well, ignorance is bliss, you probably get a lot of laughs.

I don't know, man. I only have your words to rely on.

What a witty riposte! Maybe you should take up writing in between sessions of wanking to the thought of your own ego.
