Columbia Univ. SHP

I'm currently applying for this program [see topic] and I was wondering, what are the minium requirements and chances I can get in? As well as, what kind of questions they ask on the test, what kind of studying should I do and if anyone has made it in, how the programs like?

I'm exceedly enthusiastic and motivated about this program.
To be bluntly hones however, I have a horrible grade in Chemistry (75 Current Science) and 93 (Mathemathics). Will they take my mathemathical skills more so into consideration?

There are spearate tests in math and science. The science one is extremely easy, its equivalent to all the easy life and physical science u learn in elementry school and mayb frosh year of high school if you took physical science. Then theres a math section which isnt too bad, geometry , algebra, some pre-calc sort of stuff. Then they give a challange section with 20 really difficult questions. What grade r u in? Every1 in grades 9-12 get the same test so it might seem harder depending on what grade your in.

Thank you so much for your reply. It was very informative and interesting to note. Now I know what I'm going to have to study thanks to you.

btw, I'm a Sophomore and I've just started on Math B so... have to study B and Cal.

The science section is incredibly easy, just general info pertaining to all fields of science. There is another easy math section, followed by the "challenge" math section, which really isn't that difficult. Everything it tests is covered by precalc.

I think the selection process is based more on your grades and your teacher recommendations (my math teacher sent in a VERY nice recommendation). The actual test Columbia administers is only to verify this data.

Hope this helped and good luck!

KidNovelist: what books have you written?

Thanks for the information. Truly, appreciate it!! Just need to improve my chemistry grades -_-''

Btw, Can anyone tell me the most frequent type of math questions that pop up? I'm just in the beginning of Math B (still doing proofs -_-') and I haven't even encountered pre-cal yet I want to study to make it in.

just wondering
does everyone get a chance to test?
or are some people filtered out after recomendations, and never get a chance to test?
