Columbia Science Honors Program

Hey, I applied to the program and will be taking the entrance exam.

Can someone please fill me in on the exam and exactly what they take into consideration.

I know that there is:
- an easy science section
- an easy math section
- an extremely difficult challenge-math section

What's weighted more? the exam, the transcript, the statement of interest or the recommendation?

How can I study for it?

Thanks in advance...

The test really isn't something you can study for... it tests general science knowledge and the math section is basic algebra and arithmetic. The "challenge" section is 20 questions that range in difficulty, with none of them covering anything more than precalc.

I think the test they administer is just to verify your transcript and teacher recommendations, which are probably weighed more heavily.

As for statement of interest, I actually forgot to do that part when I was applying...I guess I misread that part. Regardless, I still got in.

Good luck. ;)
