Columbia University high school summer program

I just applied to the summer program and I was wondering if it was actually worth it. I mean, I read the article from six or so years ago, but I don’t want to rely on something so outdated. If anyone has attended the program more recently or knows someone that does, just let me know. Thanks!

I just applied as well! What programs/sessions did you apply for?

I just got into Introduction for Trial Advocacy and I’m planning on going. You guys?

I applied for Into to Creative writing for the first session. You?

How long did it take to get a response?

I applied for Intro to Business, Economics, and Finance! How long did it take to receive a response? I haven’t heard anything back yet.

I could get it sometime this week or to the end of the month, hopefully the first happens though. I’ll let you know when I get mine.

Did you get your acceptance yet because I still haven’t received mine

They said it takes 3-5 weeks after recommendations are done but mine was surprisingly fast. It took only about 10 days

I’m still waiting, sadly. I keep expecting it to be today but when it doesn’t happen I do the same the next day lol

I’m sure it’ll come soon. Is yours by email or regular mail?

I’m pretty sure everyone’s comes by email for the convenience

I’ve heard they for some courses with lower acceptance rates I takes longer

*that

*it

Oh really? Thanks I thought they were ignoring me

You can always just email them and ask how long it will take

Hey! I got in last year for electrical/solar engineering. Its absolutely worth it if you can afford it. Columbia has a pretty active summer program. And they’ll make sure you have a full experience which is filled not only with academic challenges but also with fun trips to broadway, other ivy leagues (they took me to Harvard), you’ll get a chance to attend really interesting debates/literary/environmental clubs etc. You’ll get a full college experience. You’ll meet pretty intelligent people and you’ll get to have first hand experience with latests gadgets and you’ll learn new strategies that exist in the field for which you have applied. Also, you’ll get to see that columbia is pretty serious with its work but also that its a party school, lol. There was a first day bbq party and dance when I went.
All in all I’d say that I fell in love with columbia after the summer program and it holds full potential for anyone who can afford to attend it because its worth the cost.

Do you know if their entrepreneurship course was good? Was it a large or small class?

Oh yes! My friend got into that one and he was absolutely thrilled. He said his batch was of medium size (around 20 students). It varies a lot, just so you know.
