@Maroonsfan All Ivies are releasing decisions on that date.
I found this from last year. Just in case you want a mental picture of who is making these difficult decisions. SO, SO many great kids applying. So many years of hard work and hopefully the pay off you are looking for. If not at Columbia, you will find success somewhere, because your track record proves you are awesome! Good luck everyone! https://bwog.com/2014/03/27/columbia-sends-2018-rd-letters/
So what’d you guys put for your favorite websites? Anyone put collegeconfidential lol?
@wilguen Hahaha I actually did! I also put my school website and two local news station websites that I visit a lot.
@wilguen haha I did too!!
Can anyone else not access their financial/application tracking portal?? I know this is a little late as the last day to access it is tomorrow, but no matter what I try it won’t let me login and says there is some error. I’m only concerned if I have to view my decision on the portal on the 31st, so do decisions come out on the application tracking portal or through email or what? I just don’t want to screw myself over on the 31st.
I can still access my application and financial aid tracking even though it’s after March 20. Weird…
Does anyone else’s finaid portal say they’re missing a whole bunch of stuff? I called and they said it would be okay but I’m still a little worried, this financial aid stuff is so stressful.
@triantafilla I can access it too.
Did y’all get the email about Columbia not mailing decision letters anymore?
Yup, just got that email too.
So they’re still mailing acceptances, right?
“We will provide SOME admissions decisions only online, not via regular mail.”
@arabm2 I noticed that too… Maybe they’re referring to sending out packets for accepted students?
@arabm2 Yup, just got it. Can’t wait for March 31!
@arabm2 That would be my assumption. The acceptance packets are worth keeping for you kids . A screenshot, not so much.
Got the email!
I’m hoping my interview made a difference. I had an excellent interviewer who happened to be a close family friend of one of recommenders, and we talked about everything from sports to culture, current events to the political future of America. He at first told me that interviews usually take about a half hour to forty-five minutes, and we talked for 1.5 hours, with no hesitations or silences. Some people have claimed that Columbia grants interviews to “borderline” students, so if my decision could have gone either way, I hope the interview was the deciding factor.
@InvictusManeo I did not know interviews were for borderline students. Wow, I hope our interviews were the deciding factor (acceptance) or both of us. Good Luck!!
Columbia emailed and called my guidance counselor requesting information about my current grades last week. My counselor said the situation seemed urgent, and that they really needed to see them.
What does this mean for my admissions chances? Did anyone else have this happen to them?
@gosfgiants2010 I’m sorry but I don’t see them doing that. They have enough information on you now to decide without using your “current” grades. Besides, to be fair they’d have to ask for everyone’s current grades.
