hi! a few things id like to say! i never got an email saying that decisions will come out on thurs at 7, thats a bad sign right? And also i submitted my application late because and only submitted half because i doubted that it would be fine (i submitted it 1.5 months late) but they sent me an email saying to submit everything by feb 15 and that if i did theyd have enough time to review my app so i did it by then. thats still bad tho right?
NEVERMIND !! i got the email i think it was in spam
But still please answer on whether or not it was bad my app was late
@mororo I think your app is fine. The AO was probably still making decisions up to a week or two ago.
Are you talking about your school application (Common App, Coalition, QuestBridge) or your financial aid application? I’ve never heard of someone being able to submit their school application late and still be reviewed/accepted.
Is the application checklist gone for everybody?
The checklist is gone for me!
My school application, they said “there will be sufficient time to review your application thoroughly and carefully” in an email they sent me @billbixby34
They just said it must be submitted by Feb. 15
Which i submitted it by
i think its fine because they did send me an email asking me to submit it but maybe that was so they could brag ab how many applications they got lol
I’m really not sure. If they sent you an email saying to get it all in by a certain date and you did, then you should be fine. Good luck!
What are the chances of Columbia accepting two students from one international school? This other student applying received a likely letter, but we are applying to different schools in Columbia.
Did Columbia send likely letters to non-athletes?
Hiya!!! Fellow RD Applicant, Columbia will be submitted on Ivy Day, March 26th, at 7 pm EST or 4 pm PST. I also received an email saying that it will be posted then. Nice to meet yall and think POSITIVE!!!
@amebede that depends on how many students are usually accepted from you school. Even if it’s historically one student, it could be possible that two or more are selected this year. Good luck!
@chitin yes, Columbia sent likelies to a few non-athletes.
Does anyone remember if there was an application completion list on the Columbia portal? If there was, it’s gone for me?
Did all your emails say the same thing? Where there any “clues” or am I just too paranoid?
Here it is:
Thank you for your first-year application to Columbia University. We are grateful for your interest in us and, especially during this tumultuous time, we wish you well. Like many of you, we have been working remotely these last several days and are now nearing the end of our application review.
This year we will provide admissions decisions only online, not via postal mail. We plan to make available all decisions online, on Thursday, March 26, 2020, after 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).
If you have previously created an account to track the status of your application, please use the same credentials you created at that time. If you have not yet created an account or if you have any difficulty logging in, follow the instructions on our website. This step should be completed as soon as possible to avoid a delay in receiving your admissions decision.
While we are working remotely, we are available via email if you have any questions. Please feel free to contact Undergraduate Admissions at ugrad-ask@columbia.edu.
@CindyLeuWho Yes, that’s normal. Many schools do maintenance on applicant portals before decisions are released.
@ImVeryStupid The email is the same for every applicant. Please try to relax, though I do understand how you feel… roughly 115 hours left to go!
Roughly 388800 seconds left. lol
