Hey, I’m a Film and TV major in COM and I haven’t gone to orientation yet. I’m trying to plan out which classes I want to take next year but I’m sure there are some core classes particular to COM that I have to plan my schedule around. Can anyone tell me what those classes are? I can’t find them anywhere on the BU website. Also, is there a university core that I have to fulfill as well as the COM core? I’ve heard of the Core/Divisional Studies thing but I have no idea what either of those are or what the difference between them is.

So if any COM students could help me out that’d be great! Thanks :)

5 core classes listed here: [Core Courses Courses College of Communication Academics | Boston University](http://www.bu.edu/academics/com/courses/core-courses/)
5 additional Film and TV courses, but you’ll probably hold off on those until sophomore year or next semester. Your other classes will probably be CAS classes in concentrations of your choosing.

First semester you will take COM 101 and a discussion class for it. You will also be taking WR 100. Your other two classes will be classes to fulfill your foundation requirements (multicultural study, language, history, social science, philosophy, etc)

Second semester you will understand but in case you’re curious … you will be taking COM 201 which does not have a discussion class. WR150 is optional but highly recommended your 2nd semester of freshman year. And again 2 classes to fulfill your foundation requirements.

COM kids have the easiest/ most laid back schedules

Yaaay!! Haha thank you :)
