I need to make a deciision soon, but I can't seem to decide. Can anyone here help? I plan on majoring in something in Business. My choices are:

Rutgers (In-state - About $15K) - A lot of my friends are going here and I like the idea of going to football games there. It's the closest college of choice to me. It is the cheapest option.

Penn State (About $30K) - I'm leaning towards Penn State, but the only thing holding me back is the that it's in the middle of nowhere and it's the farthest from home. They gave me only a little financial aid. Smeal is probably the most prestigious business school of out my choices and I hear getting jobs/internships is easier due to all the connections. Football is also big here, another plus.

American (About $22K) - I didn't think I would even consider American, but they did give me the most money. I wasn't that interested until my financial aid package came in the mail.

George Washington (Sent in my Profile late, still waiting on aid, I'm gonna estimate I get about $20K so that would make it around $30K) - I would have to ask to extend the May 1 deadline because I only sent in my Profile a week ago. I really liked the city campus when I visited and the dorms are nice. Internship opportunities are a plus in DC.

Penn State is amazing. I am a senior at Penn State UP this year. Everyone loves it in Happy Valley. Your other choices are very solid, but you will definitely never regret it if you decide to come here. Football season is going to be ridiculous. Michigan comes to State College October 18th. Best of luck.

Are you looking for more of a campus or city feeling? American and GW, being in Washington DC are going to have much more going on around the campus. Might be good for future interships too. Personally, I would pick one of these two, but then I am more of a city person.

okay -- all good schools academically
if football (big time sports) is important to you and it seems it is......
go with Penn State or Rutgers (to save money)
you can always live in a city (DC) later
can't relive the traditional state college experience

i would say penn state. im from jersey and didnt even apply to rutgers, even though it is a very good school. you sound like youre really interested in having a lot of school spirit/football so i dont think american or gw would fit because (from what i know) theyre more city oriented. ive been to the rutgers campus once and i wasnt thrilled with it. a little more than 10% of every class of my HS goes to rutgers, and that wasnt something i was looking for.

everyone LOVES penn state. while it is in the middle of nowhere, you dont need anything else than what is offered. smeal is a great business school and the alumni network really cant be beaten. its a HUGE school so you have to be prepared for that. its about 4 hours from my house, which i dont consider to be too far. just something about me says that the experience at penn state > rutgers by a mile.

that being said, if you cant afford the extra $15k a year for penn state then rutgers seems to fit what you want second best and im sure you would enjoy your experience there too
