Coming to accept drinking and drinkers

I’m similar to you in my stance on drinking, and it’s hard for me not to judge as well.

I’ve got to work on that…

For thousands of years drinking has been an accepted behavior in several different societies and shouldn’t be viewed as taboo for someone who has never taken a drink. In numerous countries other than the U.S the legal drinking age is 18 or lower and they have less drinking related problems than the U.S. It’s fun to let loose every once and a while and most would argue that they enjoy the effects that alcohol has on them. As long as drinking isn’t adverse to a students grades than that student should be allowed to have fun.

Don’t judge somebody because they drink, because than by association you would be judging a large portion of America. I feel like the OP needs to lighten up a bit and try drinking in moderation, at his own consent, to be able to judge for himself. It can be a good way to talk to some pretty lady that he has had his eye on with loosened inhibitions. Drinking does not make people weak, they just want to have fun! Also very seldom is drinking a coping mechanism, it’s mainly a social tool that is fun as long as the drinkers are responsible and don’t drive.

Drinkers are hilarious. Drunk people are great entertainment at parties

^Really? I find drunk people completely obnoxious when sober. Maybe if you don’t drink much it’s funnier, idk. I hate drunk people if I’m not drunk. They’re so annoying!

“Some people begin to depend upon it”

I prefer the term ‘professional drinker’
